Join us at St Martin’s church when we celebrate the following at our 10:00am Parish Mass:
Sunday 17th May – The Ascension
Forty days after his resurrection at Easter we celebrate Jesus’ ascension to heaven. The Ascension does not mark the end of Jesus’ relationship with the Church, but the beginning of a new way of His relating to the world, in and through the Church.
Sunday 24th May – Pentecost
On Pentecost Sunday we celebrate the Holy Spirit descending upon the Apostles and granting them the gifts of the Holy Spirit. These gifts helped them to fulfill their mission to preach the Gospel to all nations. For us too these gifts help us to live a Christian life.
Sunday 31st May – Trinity Sunday
Trinity Sunday is celebrated a week after Pentecost in honour of the most fundamental of Christian beliefs – The Holy Trinity. We can never fully understand the mystery of the Trinity, but we can sum it up in the following formula: God is three Persons in one Nature. The three Persons of God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—are all equally God, and cannot be divided.
