“Follow me.” [13th Sunday in Ordinary Time: 30th June]

Christ wants us to follow him? Like, literally. Not just in the Twitter sense (click here for our Twitter page!)

What does it mean to follow?

  • Christ calls us to orientate ourselves toward him so he may lead us.
  • We should not fear for what may become in our lives.
  • If he is leading us, we can trust in Him because He is God.
  • We share with other Christians who also follow Him.

As Saint Benedict said:
“May the holy Cross be my light; let not the dragon be my guide.”
“Crux sancta sit mihi lux / Non draco sit mihi dux”
(Rhymes in Latin)

Join us this Sunday for our main act of worship at 10am.

C. S. Matthew

“Who do you say I am?” [12th Sunday Ordinary Time]

What name do we give Jesus?

Our Lord? Our Saviour? Teacher?

This Sunday’s Gospel taken from the Gospel of Luke (9:18-24) shows us Jesus Christ asking this question and pointing forward to His act of love on the cross, to ‘suffer grievously’.

Join us this Sunday for our main act of worship at 10am.

Pimm’s and Barbecue! [THIS SUNDAY!]

This Sunday, we welcome you to our fantastic BBQ as we enter the jolly month of June and celebrate Corpus Christi here in sunny MK!

All proceeds will be going to an excellent cause: raising funds for the youth pilgrimage to Walsingham this year.

So, have some wonderful BBQ meat, some delicious Pimm’s, and support us and our youth by  helping us bring the wonderous experience of Walsingham into the hearts of the youth of our parish.

This event will be after the main Parish Mass of 10am, so join us in a fellowship lunch for a good cause!

The Baptism of Our Lord

This Sunday we celebrate the baptism of Jesus Christ.

Come join us as we remember this marvelous moment in the life of Our Lord in our Parish Mass at 9.30am followed by refreshments in the church hall (next door).

When Thou, O Lord, wast baptized in the Jordan, worship of the Trinity wast made manifest; for the voice of the Father bore witness to Thee, calling Thee His beloved Son. And the Spirit in the form of a dove confirmed the truth of His word. O Christ our God, Who hath appeared and enlightened the world, glory to Thee. – Troparion for the Baptism of Christ (Theophany).

The season of Epiphany

Now that we have entered the new year, let us, as those wise men of the east, lay our gifts before the Lord our God.

Driven by the sign of a star, those three persons, gentiles to Israel, came to pay homage to one worthy of praise.
As people of God, each unique in our selves, let us bring into this new year an affirmation of our talents and gifts whatever they may be, from sewing to state economics. May we offer our gifts in joyful thanks to the Lord who does create and embraces us in His loving kindness.

What can I give him
Poor as I am?
If I were a shepherd
I would bring a lamb;
If I were a wise man
I would do my part;
Yet what I can give him –
Give my heart.
– Christina Rosetti (1830-94) ‘In the Bleak Mid-Winter’
