The Feast of the Transfiguration

transfiguration

The feast of the Transfiguration of Christ celebrates the revelation of Christ’s divine glory

After revealing to His disciples that He would be put to death in Jerusalem Christ, along withPeter, James, and John, went up the mountain. There “he was transfigured before them. And his face did shine as the sun: and his garments became white as snow.”

The Feast of the Transfiguration will be celebrated with a sung Mass on Wednesday 6th August at 7:30pm.

LENT STUDY GROUP

BBOTR booklet cover 24 Apr 13UILD ON THE ROCK

Faith, doubt – and Jesus

BUILD ON THE ROCK (Matthew 7.24) starts by looking at faith and doubt. Is it wrong – or is it normal and healthy – for a Christian to have doubts? Is there any evidence for a God who loves us? We hear from many witnesses.  At the heart of a Christian answer stands Jesus himself.

We consider his ‘strange and beautiful story’ and reflect upon his teaching, his death, his resurrection and his continuing significance.

The study group meets every Wednesday evening in the vestry hall following a short compline at 7:30pm.

Please note that there will be a small charge of £3.50 to cover the cost of the booklet you will need.

Sign up for the study group on the list at back of church, or contact Father Victor.
